Online Learning
With the Ministry of Education announcement of the creation of Saskatchewan Distance Learning Centre (DLC), Saskatoon Public Schools no longer offers online programming. Instead, students can register as full-time or part-time online learners with Sask DLC.
Register
Prior to registering for online learning, students and their parents/caregivers should ensure that their child will be a successful online learner.
- What Makes a Successful Online Learner
- Persistence
- Effective time management skills
- Literacy and communication skills
- Technical skills (e.g., computer skills, keyboarding)
- Independent learner
- Access to sufficient technology (e.g., computer, Wifi)
- Parent/caregiver support with monitoring progress and communicating with DLC staff.
- Full-Time Online Learning
- Students from kindergarten to Grade 12 can register for full-time online learning with Sask DLC here.
- Part-Time Online Learning
- Students from kindergarten to Grade 9 may not register for part-time online learning.
- Students from grades 10 to 12 should meet with a counsellor at their school to register and request the online course they are interested in taking. Contact Student Services at your school to make an appointment.
Suggested Deadlines (Part-Time Classes)
- Semester one registration: September 11
- Semester two registration: February 10
