Elementary School Students

In most circumstances, parents are responsible for transporting their children to and from school. However, a student may be eligible for free transportation if the student:

Note: Students who qualify for busing in half-day kindergarten will only be bused one way. If they attend morning class, they will be bused to school. If they attend afternoon class, they will be bused home.

Hertz Northern Bus

If your school's busing partner is Hertz Northern Bus, you can receive online updates about bus route delays and cancellations on Hertz's website here. Saskatoon Transit: Free Fare for Children in Grade 8 and Under

Starting on September 1, 2024, Saskatoon Transit will launch a new program offering free fares for children in Grade 8 and under. This program allows elementary school-age children to ride all Saskatoon Transit and Access Transit services for free without needing to scan a fare pass or show any documentation (such as an ID) simply by boarding the bus based on their grade level. High School Students

High school students are encouraged to use Saskatoon Transit or to walk, bike or carpool to school.
